Our visit to the Sinai Academy

Last week we visited the Sinai Academy in Bloubergrant.

The class went to a synagogue. When we walked in,the boys had to sit on one side and the girls had to sit on the other side. The Rabbi showed us their Bible, which is read from back to front. When it was almost the end we got to see the Rabbi blow a Ram’s horn and it was loud.

We had Shabbat with the Jewish children. We ate challah bread and we drank grape juice. One of the children prayed in Hebrew, which is the Jewish language. They also showed us how to lit the candles.Another of their holidays is Rosh Hoshanah.

I enjoyed the morning at Sinai Academy.I respect their religion and what they celebrate. It was a very interesting visit.
